As a hardy b&w artist i can be really envious of good colouring. On this piece they really give the feel of oil and dirtiness, heavy air. The machine is marvellous but I really appreciate the background and everything that is happening around. Great stuff.
This vision succeeds on many levels at once: the machine itself is fantastic, as is the rendering, and you've also created a tone/mood that is both realistic and anachronistic (essentially steam punk). I'd love to hear a bit about how you composed this. I wonder for example, what the inspiration for your background was.
This is AMAZING work - fantastic concept, gobsmacking design and absolutely gorgeous technique used to realise it... one of the best "steampunk" pieces I've ever seen! If I was wearing a hat, I would take it off right now
That's probably one of my favourite steam punk concept pics. And a painting on top! I adore the realism, just like one of those old 1900s photographs with people standing about their technological marvels.
