Kiek in de Kok is Glance into the kitchen ?? which language , In dutch Kiek is old for Kijk ,( look ) , in de is the same in Dutch , but Kok is cook and not Kitchen ....
Plattdüütsch(Nedersaksisch) was spoken in Estonia. It's actually Kiek in de Kök. With an Ö. In Estonian it is Kiika Kööki. It is called that because the guard tower was next to a kitchen so that's how it got its name.
With ö is more logical to me , than the pronounciation is closer to the Dutch for kitchen "keuken"( ö is eu in Dutch ) not strange since Dutch devolped from a western version of plattdeutsch ..
