You have so perfectly captured the feel of things that I almsot believe these things really did ply the airways of Victorian Europe! I love the elaborate gantry stations you have for the flying machines! Very realistic!
There were such things as dirigibles, zeppelins, airships, etc. But they were nothing like :iconvoitiv:'s creations. His airships seem to be built of boiler iron, with the control deck on top of them; they are powered by big steam engines; and carry cargo inside of them.
lol no they didn't! Yes, there were 'lighter-than-air' craft. But they were covered with fabrics of various kinds and the big parts of them contained only gas-filled bags to make the things float. 's airships are obviously based on dirigibles and zeppelins, but they are totally different in terms of their propulsion, viz. the use of steam engines and boiler iron; the contents of the 'balloons;' and other ways.
You're killing me, lol. I wish I had some sort of photos, but yes, they ran on steam and looked almost identical to what hes drawn. They were called "steamrons," or something like that but people were afraid of them because they were too fast, lol.
